UCF will kick off the Scott Frost era for the public in grand fashion with a day full of events throughout campus capped off by the spring game at 7 p.m. on April 16.

It is what they are calling the #UCFFastival, continuing the trending #UCFast moniker Frost has adopted.

The day will include a UCF baseball game that afternoon and concerts in and around Bright House Networks Stadium, including one from 1990/2000s alternative rock back Vertical Horizon. It ends with the spring game and a meet and greet on the field afterward.

There is obviously some marketing excitement getting built for this team and this game.

The Knights themselves are a bit uncertain to watch at this point. UCF of course finished last year winless and left a lot of questions for themselves heading into this season.

Frost has added some energy and brought a lot of energy to recruiting almost immediately. The belief is the perception of UCF has changed dramatically and there is a certain amount of excitement for how this team will play when Frost fully sinks his teeth into this team.

Of course, Frost has not ever been a head coach yet and this is still a returning team that failed to win a game in 2012. There are a lot of questions about this team and program moving forward. The 2016 season might still be a work in progress rather than any revelation. Everyone will have a learning curve.

April though as the capstone to spring practice will be a test point for the team. The public will get to see how this new mentality and new offense really works and whether it can be something that sticks at UCF.

Entering that though, the Knights are taking full marketing advantage of the newness and the attempt to sell the program.

UCF will have a lot of work to get through until then. But the whole day, fanfare and all, will be a big day for the Knights.
