Monday begins a very busy week in Orlando with the Orlando Magic hosting Anthony Davis. It continues with two major bowl games and the Orlando Solar Bears.

Monday begins a very busy week in Orlando.

The Orlando Magic host the New Orleans Pelicans at the Amway Center on Monday. They then host the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday.

The Orlando Solar Bears get the South Carolina Stingrays at Amway Center on Tuesday followed by a double set with the Florida Everblades on Saturday and Sunday.

And then, of course, there are two bowl games this week.

The Russell Athletic Bowl pits offensive powerhouses in Baylor and North Carolina on Tuesday at the Orlando Citrus Bowl. The Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl will be a defensive clash between Michigan and Florida on Friday.

And, oh yeah, it is the end of the year so we have 2015 to reflect on.

Phew, that is a lot.

I got to work preparing for all that by joining Eric Lopez on the Sports Talk Florida Insiders Show on Saturday. In this segment, I preview the bowl games this week, talk about the stories that made Orlando sports in 2015 and could make Orlando sports in 2016 and the Magic’s upcoming stretch:

On this episode:

  • Previewing the Russell Athletic Bowl and Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl
  • What the Citrus Bowl means for the Big Ten and SEC
  • Why Orlando City’s inaugural year was the sports story of the year in Orlando (more on that later)
  • What will be the biggest sports story in Orlando for 2016
  • How important the end of the year stretch at Amway Center is for the Orlando Magic
  • Can the Orlando Magic last in the Playoff hunt?

Be sure to listen to Eric Lopez and Carson Ingle, both contributors to this site, every Saturday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Sports Talk Florida 1080 AM in Orlando or streaming live on SportsTalkFlorida.com.

My thanks to them for having me on the show Saturday.
