The Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl matchup between the Florida Gators and Michigan Wolverines announced the second fastest sellout in bowl history.

Florida Citrus Sports has officially announced it has sold out the Jan. 1 game between the Florida Gators and Michigan Wolverines.

The game has generated a ton of excitement for sure as it is the first time both power schools have been in Orlando since they played each other in 2008. It is the second fastest sellout in Orlando bowl history, the 2008 matchup that featured Tim Tebow for the Gators and Lloyd Carr’s last game as head coach for the Wolverines.

That game was exciting and one of the best of the bowl season with Michigan upsetting Florida for the win by a single score.

The game has definitely generated a ton of buzz locally and nationally. Exactly what the Citrus Bowl would want.

Tickets on the secondary market via Vivid Seats are going from $38-$942 for the game.

Orlando is one week away now from its first bowl game in next Saturday’s AutoNation Cure Bowl between the San Jose State Spartans and the Georgia State Panthers.

Neither of those teams have quite the same pull as the other two bowl games, but it should be a very exciting game between two high-powered offensive teams. The Spartans are a strong running team while the Panthers pass the ball very well.

We will preview both those teams as the week goes on leading into the bowl game next Saturday.

As somewhat expected, plenty of tickets are available. On Vivid Seats, tickets are going from $41-$324. But there are plenty of sometimes cheaper tickets available directly through the Cure Bowl.

Orlando’s second bowl game, the Russell Athletic Bowl, features another intriguing matchup of powerful offenses in North Carolina and Baylor, provided Baylor can get a healthy quarterback on the field.

Vivid Seats has tickets on the secondary market going from $35-$247. That right now is actually cheaper than the Cure Bowl. Tickets will probably go faster as the Dec. 29 gameday creeps closer and closer.

Obviously, neither game has quite the pull the Florida-Michigan game does in the Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl. But it is already setting up to be an interesting and exciting bowl season for Orlando.
