Orlando TV Ratings: Orlando City win over Portland viewers up from 2015

Orlando City 4-1 win over MLS Cup champion Portland Timbers proved to be a big draw on TV in addition to the Citrus Bowl. The game drew a large TV audience.

Orlando City’s 4-1 win against the Portland Timbers that aired on FOX Sports 1 on Sunday night drew a national audience of 261,000 viewers according to SportsTVRatings.com. The number is up from last year’s Orlando City win at Portland that aired on ESPN2 on April 12th, garnering 226,000 viewers in the Sunday late-afternoon time slot.

Sunday night’s Orlando City game, which marked Kaka’s season debut, was the second-most watched Orlando City game that aired on FS1. Only last year’s home game against D.C. United on June 14, 2015 had more viewers as that game garnered 378,000 viewers. To date that game is second most-watched Orlando City game in the MLS behind the MLS debut against New York FC (539,000) on March 8.

Last year, Orlando City games on FS1 averaged 226,000 viewers. Sunday’s viewers were slightly down from last year’s Orlando City game at D.C. United on the same weekend one year ago to the day (269,000) on April 3.

Of the 261,000 viewers, 115,000 of the viewers were from the ages 18-49 according to SportsMediaWatch.com.
