Orlando TV Ratings: New England Patriots-New York Giants top Orlando viewers

The New England Patriots and New York Giants proved to be a major draw for the Orlando television market, becoming the most watched NFL game of the season.

The New England Patriots’ dramatic win against the New York Giants on Sunday was not only the most watched sporting event of the week in Orlando, but the most watched sporting event of the football season.

The Patriots’ 27-26 win over the Giants, which aired on CBS, garnered 398,496 viewers easily passing Week 7’s Giants win over the Cowboys for most watched football game of the season in Orlando.

The Patriots-Giants game crushed competition on Sunday as CBS’s 60 Minutes, which followed the game, garnered 258,017 viewers according to Nielsen (60 Minutes aired an exclusive report on the aftermath of Friday’s terrorist attacks in Paris and an interview with new Speaker of the House Paul Ryan).

The NFL even doubled the audience for AMC’s Walking Dead, which normally has been right there with the NFL for viewers in Orlando. Walking Dead had only 182,490 viewers. Walking Dead did edge Sunday Night Football’s wild game between Arizona Cardinals and Seattle Seahawks which garnered 166,622 viewers.

The Patriots and Giants have proven to be two of the more popular draws for Orlando viewers. Four of the top 10 most viewed games this season have involved the Patriots, while the Giants have been involved in three of the top 10 including the top two most watched NFL games this season in Orlando.
